IELTS writing test will be of 60 minutes for both tasks 1 and 2 together. The strategy here is to spend the first 20 minutes finishing task 1 and then going for task 2.

Format 1: Only one map of a certain place will be given and asks to demonstrate it. These kinds of questions are rare and easy as there is nothing to compare. Just explaining that map is enough.
Format 2: Two different maps of a sample place will be given. This kind is more often. The test takers must analyze those maps and write an essay of 150 words in 20 minutes.
